Hospital Unit Clerk Practicum

Students will be required to participate in a 120 hour practicum. Students must earn a grade of 75% or better and have a minimum of 85% attendance and active participation in Exploring the Role of the Hospital Unit Clerk in order to be placed in the practicum.
 
Unit clerks commonly work 8 or 12 hour shifts on weekdays, weekends, evenings and nights. Practicums will be scheduled to reflect those shifts. A Clear Criminal Record Check and up-to-date immunization records must be provided to the college prior to the practicum.
 
Successful completion of the practicum component is required to earn the Certificate.

Please read:  Placements will occur at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, unless otherwise noted. Timeframe for this practicum of 120 hours is May 1 - July 15, 2020. Unit Clerks commonly work 8 or 12 hour shifts on weekdays, weekends, evenings and nights. Practicums will be scheduled to reflect those shifts. Day shifts start at 7am. It is not uncommon for students to have to take time off from their current job, or find additional childcare in order to complete the practicum.
